Medusa

I am no way a specialist in photomanipulation, however, I'd like to comment on this artwork because I really like it.

First of all, I have given 5 starts for originality because I will never think of such an image hearing the word "Medusa". I'd associate it with water - and there is no obvious water there. And I will not associate her with wings and butterflies, yet they are there, in this image, and they do not seem as something inappropriate.

So, here I speak of vision: the artist has excellent vision, really knowing what is doing when adding this or that symbol in the work, all the components - big or small - are in harmony, they are not a mess.

As for technique, I'd say white fog around the image was not necessary. If it is created to make the center of the artwork brighter, it failed to do so, it only suppresses the lower part of Medusa's body, since there are white clouds already. While her lower part is light, the upper part - her most dangerous aspect - is very bright, and this entailes sort of imbalance. Finally, impact means emotions that are invoked inside us when we look at the artwork. I'd say that this Medusa is too beautiful to be perceived dangerous. This ony pleases my aesthetic feelings but as for my basic human feelings of love, hate, fear, etc., they remained somewhat untouched.

As just an observer and not a critic I want to note colours: such an eye candy! Gold mixed with bright colours of butterflys and fire look awesome, I lik it a lot.
